Now if I may speak to your audience…
Here’s what Melinda did for me:
1.) We met and she explained to me her experience working with and shooting other entrepreneurs and small business owners. This included her pricing, everything that was included and not included, and what to expect in general.
2.) She explained to me that a branding photo shoot is different than a portrait or wedding shoot. It’s not a “show up and shoot” experience.
3.) She wanted an understanding of my business and branding basics, like my messaging and target markets.
4.) We both set up Pinterest boards to share and collaborate our visual strategies and brainstorming ideas. This included poses, props, hair, makeup and clothing selections that would best represent my “story”.
5.) Shooting locations were discussed and planned.
6.) The day arrived and Melinda orchestrated a well-planned shoot, with hair, make-up, poses, outfits and props planned in advance. Six and a half hours later and I had experienced my dream photo shoot!
7.) I now have 25 amazing digital images that I can use to establish a powerful brand and a captivating online presence.
Melinda is not only a professional woman with a fancy camera and lights, but she is also a successful business owner, a coach, a cheerleader, a creative director and now a forever friend.

Melinda did a photo shoot for my family as well as some professional photos for me and I am blown away by the photos she took. She completely captured the love and laughter we share as a family, and it helped that she is such a warm, gentle person that she makes you feel right at home and not like you’re just posing for a photo. She took a couple edgier photos for my hairdressing business which was so much fun and her creativity really shined. We had so much fun and we will cherish these photos forever.

Once you hit 40, there are concepts that come with age - preconceived societal pressures and while men over 40 are considered distinguished, women are considered “old”.
I like changing people’s perspective, no matter what the subject is so when Melinda announced her creative project of capturing 40 women over the age of 40, I reached out to her immediately. I felt it was an important opportunity for me to see ME through the eyes of another, not just the daily reflection in my mirror.
We spent weeks happily planning…colors, backgrounds, settings, wardrobe. Tons of details. By the time I arrived to the studio for hair and makeup, Melinda greeted me with organic treats as I settled into the artist’s chair and was transformed.
During the photo shoot, Melinda has this special knack to make you not only feel comfortable, but nurtured, SEEN, honored, FRESH and beautiful. She brings fun to something that could be considered stressful…putting yourself in front of the camera.
